Change The Spreadsheet & New MLMs
Published January 14, 2009 Uncategorized 2 CommentsTags: direct selling, email marketing, email software, independent reps, mlm, multi level marketing, network marketing, sales
WrapMail is on a quest to change the paradigm of how companies use their email as a media tool. During this journey we have spoken to a number of smart people in media, specifically, electronic media about our college program and the primary advice we get is ‘it has to fit on the spreadsheet.’ This refers to the spreadsheet that the entry level media buyer slaves over when preparing a media plan for one of the agency’s clients. Right now, we don’t fit on the spreadsheet because our category does not exist. So we are here to say – change the damn spreadsheet!! I am confident that we will uncover the agency that is entrepreneurial enough to see the opportunity that lies within our college email ad network and will simply add a line to the spreadsheet labeled ‘email ad network.’
We are moving ever closer to this being a reality with Broward College and are in discussions with two consumer brands to be the first to advertise. It is too early to say who they are, but we can tell you that they are a consumer electronics manufacturer and a QSR that serves a type of food that college kids love. More to come on that front as it develops.

We are pleased to announce the official launch of WrapMail Lite for independent consultants in multilevel marketing companies. Independent consultants now have access to the same powerful email marketing software that WrapMail Pro clients use. After signing up for the web-based system, reps will choose their affiliation or network marketing group by selecting a professionally designed wrap which they can customize with their picture, personal web site link & contact info, then, they can send emails and track their activity.
Currently, there are more than 30 companies that reps can choose wraps from with plans to have more than 100 multilevel marketing companies in the system by the end of January. Some of the current companies include: Amway, Arbonne International, Shop to Earn, Avon, Mary Kay, Monavie, Pampered Chef, Herbalife, and Your Travel Biz. The Wrap can be linked back to the sender’s unique web site, blog, or the corporate site. When the Wrap is clicked, the system will report who is clicking on the sender’s Wrap and when. With an estimated 15 million people in the U.S. involved in network marketing and more than 68 million worldwide, we thought this was a natural product for us to launch. Additionally, given the current economic conditions, we expect the activity in MLMs to increase and WrapMail Lite is a very inexpensive tool for independent reps to use to grow their business.
Wrap it up and stay tuned for more updates!

Inexpensive email Marketing
Published November 21, 2008 Marketing , sales Leave a CommentTags: branding, economy, email marketing, saas, sales, selling
Times are tough, there is no doubt about it. Hopefully, all of the companies out there cutting back are not doing so in their marketing departments, because in a down economy you MUST continue to communicate with your customers and prospects. WrapMail is based on the premise that companies have employees that send emails. These are emails that are 1) going to be sent anyway (i.e. the email that confirms a meeting for instance) and 2) company assets. In other words, that email is or should be of business nature, is sent using the corporate email address and is therefore ‘owned’ by the company, it’s an asset.
Think of all the building owners in Times Square, do you think they were built with those billboards and signs on it? No, they had an asset, the exterior walls, and they monetized it by either advertising for themselves or a 3rd party. WrapMail is the same concept. You own the email, you might as well put it to work for you beyond just being a means to communicate – use it to cross sell, brand, inform, research and go viral.
WrapMail costs $5 per user per month. For most any business, big or small, it should be a minimal expense, but more importantly, it puts an existing asset to work. All hands on deck!

On the new client front, we had 40 new clients sign up during the month of August. One of those clients was GeneralSports Venue who is the distributor of the athletic playing surface AstroTurf and was recently featured in Inc.. Below is an image of their Wrap, which features their many product lines, as well as a link to Archie Manning who is their spokesperson.

Email Marketing – New Look
Published August 25, 2008 Marketing , Web Traffic , sales 1 CommentTags: branding, email marketing, mass email, newsletter, saas, sales, software as a service
“You can always identify the pioneers; they are the ones with arrows in their backs.”
Ouch…there goes another arrow. WrapMail has definitely taken on the role of pioneer since its launch in January of 2006 in the world of email marketing. We are redefining how organizations use their ‘everyday’ emails to drive new sales, gain market research and even create new streams of revenue. This past week I received the two emails below which demonstrate email marketing the ‘old way.’

Borders - The Old Way

Pier1 - The Old Way
Don’t those look great? Don’t they make you want to click all over those emails with those attractive images? Wait, what’s that? What images you say. Exactly. Now, take a look at how a wrapped email using our technology shows up…every time.

Ours
We connect two dots: the corporate website and email. And we do it without installing anything on any desktop so we’re compatible with all email clients including cell phones. The above is the result. Email marketing is moving in a new direction and it includes having (embedded) HTML within emails. Why? Well, you be the judge. Which image would you be more inclined to click? The one with empty boxes and red Xs, or the one with images and product shots/offers. The wrapped example is based on a personal email – not a blast, which does not come from “do-not-reply” but rather from someone you know.
To me, the best part is the sentence at the top of the two mass emails which say “Are you having trouble viewing this email?” I would say a resounding yes.

What We Do – A Refresher
Published August 5, 2008 Marketing , sales Leave a CommentTags: branding, customer communication, email marketing, sales, software as a service, viral marketing, WrapMail
There are two elements that make what we do relevant and possible. First, companies have employees that send emails and second, companies have a website. WrapMail simply and seamlesly connects these two things. Some facts:
- Companies have employees in all types of roles sending external emails all day, on the average of about 10 per day - now, multiply the number of employees (that send emails) in an organization by 10, then by 20 (working days in a month) and you will have the number of impressions that a company is missing out on.
- Without WrapMail, employees are sending plain text emails that do not do ANYTHING in terms of communicating information about the senders company - most organizations, even non-profits, are in the business of making money, on some level. At the end of the day, the cash register needs to ring and the main way to do that is to communicate what your company has to offer to an existing or new audience. Hard to do that with a plain text email.
- In the business world, when you meet someone or engage in a sales activity, you give them your business card or corporate collateral. Both of which are “analog” and are typically updated infrequently - the business of corporate collateral is a big one. Business cards, brochures, folders, buck slips, letterhead, etc…why not extend that to email? Technology allows for it, so why not do it? And beyond that, WrapMail is “digital” meaning that it can be updated frequently and can capture data. If a brochure winds up on someones desks and is read the sender would never know. If a wrapped email is clicked on the sender will know inside of a minute.
- Organizations are often in a rush to get new products or services on their website – that does not mean that “everyone” is checking the site for new stuff. With WrapMail you can push your products and services out with every email to your audience and often emails go viral so you will reach a new audience.
- The sales force in most organizations is small in comparison the entire staff - WrapMail makes every employee a part of the sales staff. With every external email they send, they contribute the the sales effort. Implementing WrapMail is like adding an army of sales people to the staff. Think you’ll sell more stuff?
Lastly, 10% of the people you email will click on your Wrap and wind up on your site looking at all the new products and services you were in a mad rush to get on there…Wrap it up!

Innovation – Stage II
Published July 31, 2008 Company news , Marketing Leave a CommentTags: branding, customer service, sales, viral marketing
The life of a start up is an interesting one. The team works very hard at getting “the thing” up and running. Sometimes with gum and duct tape just to prove to the market that what you say is possible, is, truly possible. Then, the team begins to refine the product where the duct tape comes down and real infrastructure and solutions are put in place. WrapMail is now in the fun stage – I think so anyway – and that is what I like to think of as the 2nd stage of innovation. The first being the initial creation of our product.
WrapMail is now taking a look at all of our features and thinking about how we can make them not only perform better for the sake of performance, but also for the sake of the customer experience. We are working very hard at improving all aspects of our product to enhance the measurable results that our customers have become accustomed to seeing. In the very near future our customers will see improvements to areas such as:
- additional options for sending wrapped emails
- improved design process in the WrapMaker
- additional options with our shells (templates)
