The most inexpensive AND targeted advertising businesses are NOT using

Companies seem to ignore the single largest online branding/advertising venue available: their own regular external emails. Why not use these emails to market the senders company?

You have a website.
You send emails.

Why not multiply your sales-staff by “wrapping” the regular email in an interactive letterhead?

No other marketing or advertising medium is as targeted as an email between people that know each other (as opposed to mass emails). These emails are always read and typically kept.

WrapMail offers a solution that is server-based (i.e. compatible with all email clients), has a complete back-office with a WrapMaker, reporting etc and only charge $5 per user per month.

a new revenue source for local and federal government

Here’s an idea: the government can make Google type revenue by selling advertising in emails. Consider this example:

100,000 governmental email users send 10 emails every day, that’s 1M emails per day
Let’s say they add an interactive letterhead to these emails (promoting and informing with images, text and links) and reserves a portion of that letterhead for advertising
Further, let us assume they can fit 5 small ads (with embedded links) and sell these for 5 cents per impression: 5 cents x 1M = $50,000
$50,000 times a governmental year of 250 days would generate $12.5M
In the US there’s about 10M governmental employees that send emails so here the daily revenue would be 5 cents x 10M x 10 = $5M or $1.25b/year!
Who said the Government can’t make money?
What would the costs be? The cost of deploying WrapMail for the government would be about 25% of the revenue.
These emails could also help searching for missing kids, wanted criminals etc – i.e. combining promoting and informing about the governmental institution, find the missing and generate revenue at the same time.

WrapMail approved by Google Analytics and listed in the Google directory

WrapMail was just approved by Google for inclusion in the Google Analytics Application/Product Marketplace. The listing can be found here

WrapMail has for long been listed in the Google Apps Marketplace with both the Business and Educational email marketing solution.

Companies invest a great deal in their website which is often the only “store” where they showcase products and services. The challenge is to drive people to the website but as we all know, more people in the store will typically lead to more sales. Corporate employees send emails every day to clients, prospects, friends and others but these are plain emails that do not generate any traffic to the website.
WrapMail offers a solution that does not require any installation but that seamlessly adds interactive letterheads (designed by the client) to every outgoing email so that each and every one becomes a promotional piece for the company and when clicked delivers the reader to the website. Furthermore the solution tracks the clicks and reports who is clicking on what and when (also in real time), turning the system into a research tool.
This “hidden” advertising medium is probably the most viral available and the least costly, WrapMail only charges $5 per user per month (and a one-time signup charge of $150 which includes a custom wrap).

Here’s the article about WrapMail in last nights issue:

WrapMail: Another Way to Promote Your Business

Example of wrap currently used by Jan Geller, owner of PIP in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

If you’re interested in promoting your business via email but don’t plan to use an email service provider such as Constant Contact, you may be interested in a new company and product called WrapMail. We recently learned about this product and, although we have not tested and thoroughly reviewed it, it seems to be a useful and inexpensive tool for promoting your business and website.

WrapMail takes an ordinary email from you or anyone in your center and places a custom-designed branded border or wrap around your message that can contain links directly to your local website. It can be used as a branding tool or advertising medium. The service is flexible enough that individual users have the option to use or not use the wrap and if you have several wrap designs, decide which one they want to use at any given time. WrapMail wraps the outgoing emails in up to four frames with pictures, graphics, text, links and/or audio and it does this on the server level so there’s no need to change any routines on the desktop (the sender does not see the wrap). The best feature of WrapMail is that if you add a link to your local website, you will be able to track the number of visitors to your site from your emails.

The WrapMail service is $5 per user per month plus a small installation fee. Our only word of caution about this product to date is if a recipient has disabled HTML in their email client they will not see the wrap but only get the text you sent.

WrapMail for Hotels

Your employees send e-mails everyday but none of the e-mails promote your business! This is what WrapMail does, and we do it without changing any routines on the desktop. With WrapMail every employee and every external email promotes your business and has links to your web-site built in. ALL recipients of e-mails either go on rooms or know someone who does! There is no limit to the number of Wraps that can be used and they can change based upon sender, recipient, time, rotation or subject (to name a few variables).

There are many ways WrapMail will help you grow your business with minimum effort, just taking advantage of all communications that your employees send every day:

• Promote the Hotel in general (build Brand Equity)
• Promote each location
• For people who have booked a room there could be a special wrap with more information about the room and location (could include upgrade offers, special items for sale in the hotel from the boutiques or otherwise, spa-bookings, beauty salon bookings, excursions, etc)
• For people who have used the Hotel before there could be a special Wrap with offers for future stays, these could be timed to correspond with the time of year when they last needed a room (vacation)
• Introduce a friend via a wrapped email, could be done with a clickable link
• Travel agents could receive a special wrap or wraps (this could of course be in different languages based upon travel agent location)
• Wrap replies to e-mail inquiries promoting exactly what the prospect is inquiring about, as well as upgrades and special offers.
• Seasonal offers can be Wrapped in seasonal Wraps.
• Wrap-rules based upon clicks: WrapMail builds databases based upon clicks from recipients! Example: if people click on a Spanish flag in a Wrap, WrapMail has the intelligence to Wrap the next e-mail sent to that e-mail recipient in a Spanish Wrap. Similarly, should a recipient click on a certain hotel in a Wrapped e-mail, the next e-mail they receive can be Wrapped with marketing information about that hotel.
• Drawings and contests can be part of a Wrap, encouraging recipients to click to be entered into a contest (they could be encouraged through the contest entry click to take part in a survey that might ask “When do you plan to take your vacation and where?”).
• Emails from hotel guests could be wrapped in Hotel promotion
• 3rd party advertising is possible in the Wrap, the WrapMail customer could turn WrapMail into a revenue generator by allowing ads for local business, rental cars, airlines etc.
